Server Technician Program
Prerequisites
During the recruitment process, candidates for the Server Technician program will be reviewed for the following prerequisites:
- 3 to 5 years' experience working with, troubleshooting, and maintaining desktop PCs and operating systems including Microsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP
- Understanding the role desktop utility applications such as regedit, msconfig, and the Computer Management Console play in desktop computer support
- Familiarity with hardware technologies including IDE and SCSI hard drives, RAM memory, video and other add-on cards, and backup storage solutions
- Experience networking and supporting desktop computers on a network
- Basic understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS
- Basic understanding of networking hardware including switches, routers, and servers
- Must show extensive problem-solving skills
