Free Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training
A-DA believes that everyone deserves a chance at achieving personal and career success. This is why our youth programs include comprehensive services to help underserve young adults, ages 17 to 24, make long-term positive changes. Our youth programs provide workforce training and professional certifications in construction within a 10-week period.
Interested in the Construction Trades?
Our Construction Pre-Apprenticeship training program uses the Multi-Craft Core (MC3) Curriculum approved by the North America’s Building Trades Unions. You will receive an MC3 certificate at the end of our training program. The MC3 certificate qualifies you to apply for a Registered Apprenticeship Program in the construction trades. We are commited to assisting you with the application process to start your career as a Registered Apprecntice.
During the 10-week pre-apprenticeship program, you will learn basic construction skills, including:
- Tools & Materials
- Construction math
- Carpentry
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Painting & Finishing
- Brick Masonry
- Landscaping
- Facilities Maintenance
- 1st Aid (certificate)
- OSHA-10 (certificate)
Today, our youth program graduates are employed in various jobs throughout San Diego County and are happily earning paychecks to support themselves and their families.
ELIGIBILITY
All candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Legal right to work in the U.S.
- Provide documentation establishing proof of Identity
- Males (18+) must have or will need to register for selective service
- Be at least 17 years of age or older.

Funded 100% for a four-year program in the amount of $3.5 million by the U.S. Department of Labor.
WAF 10 Grant (2022)
Funded 100% for a two-year program in the amount of $250,000 by the State of California, Employment Development Department.
CalVIP Grant (2022)
Funded 100% for a three-year program in the amount of $1,504,195 from the Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC).
